Gluten Free Remedies Saccharomyces boulardii

Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic strain of yeast first isolated from lychee and mangosteen fruit.

Upon consumption, S. boulardii remains within the gastrointestinal lumen, and maintains and restores the natural flora in the large and small intestine. There are numerous randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled studies showing the efficacy of S. boulardii in the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal disorders.

Dosage information:

The recommended dose of S. boulardii varies from 3 to 12 billion CFU (Colony-Forming Unit) a day. S. boulardii is taken 1 to 2 times a day with meals. S. boulardii should be taken at least 1 hour before and 2 hours after any antifungal agent. S. boulardii can be taken along with anti-bacterial antibiotics.
